| Our
multi-talented performers, all well-seasoned professionals of
stage, screen, TV and nightclubs, take turns adding their
uniqueness to the inevitable comic mayhem for which Sweet Fanny
Adams Theatre is renowned. |
|
The Theatre opened in Gatlinburg in 1977 and, since that time, has
been recognized as one of the most innovative and unusual
professional theatre companies in the country. And
recently, Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre was proclaimed a National
Historical Treasure. Over 30 original musical comedies have
had their World Premieres at the Theatre with many of these
productions going on to play in cities throughout the country,
such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City. |
| The
theatrical magic at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is not conjured-up
by chance. The driving force behind each frolicking
masquerade is the wonderfully offbeat talents of Don and Pat
MacPherson, owners of the Theatre and its shows' innovative
creative team. |
|
In 1968, they formed MacPherson Productions Inc. and produced and
staged the first and most successful original musical comedy in
Las Vegas history. Tom Jones, written by the
MacPhersons, played for over 2 years at the Desert Inn Hotel, and
in 1974, The Bawdy Adventures of Tom Jones, based on
their stage script, was filmed staring Joan Collins, Trevor
Howard, Terry Thomas and Pat McPherson. |
| Two years
prior to opening Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre, the MacPhersons
produced all the productions for the Beef N Boards Dinner Theatre
chain with theatres in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville and
Lexington. |
